If you want to truly go green, you’ve got to go local.”
With the popularity of today’s green movement, I thought helping ecologically minded consumers would love to know their use of recycled lumber not only would make green sense, but also look rustic or historically accurate. With my vast inventory of recycled/reclaimed lumer, I realized my goal of meeting the needs of today’s green minded homeowner may be feasible. This inventory can milled to make nearly any wood product that would be used in the home without cutting any more trees down! Millwork can include production of regular lumber all the way up to sophisticated looking wainscoting, ceilings, ceiling beams, flooring or trim. The sky is the limit. I came up with the idea of reusing the lumber I have in my workshop to meet the needs of people . At this time, I have some initial pictures to look at. With our staff’s woodworking skills, we certainly can meet whatever recycled lumber/wood product you can think of.
You think you may be making a good choice buying some bamboo or cork flooring etc. After all, both products are renewable to some extent. Even more, exotic woods come from far places, must be harvested, using fuel each time it is transported or processed, before it is even delivered to your home. Most of the recycled woods we use come directly from the USA!
Once again, many people are unaware of with the green movement is we can be ecological conscious but this one major aspect is rarely considered. It takes fuel to transport your green goods. Most of the green type hardwood and cork flooring products are transported by large cargo ships from distant areas. They use an enormous amount of fuel.
Why should we be so wasteful? We have millions of boards a year going into landfill of dried crating pallet boards, demo timbers etc.
I have came us with a several ideas.
1. we sell air dried boards in rough sizes for you to mill, this is reclaimed material.
2. we sell air dried boards, denailed, ripped to width and surfaced to a equal thickness.
3. we can stain to a customer’s preferred color and finish accordingly.
4. we manufacture a engineered floor system floor panel from all reclaimed hardwood.
5. we reclaim large timbers for special trim or applications.
6. the material that is not good for flooring etc is turned into wooden pallets.
7. the leftover cutoffs is turned into mulch, or given away as firewood to those in our surrounding community.
8 . Any input or comments is great.

Reclaimed Lumber Inventory
The wood for sale is available. Almost all of our material is reclaimed or salvaged from old houses, industrial applications (ex) old floor joists, pallets and skids. Occasionally we will include wood that can be milled into flooring or have many other uses.
Our reclaimed flooring is salvaged from homes and industrial uses. Reclaimed wood provides you with a look that has stood the test of time. Decades of use have these wood’s with history and character that cannot be replicated in new flooring.
Aged wood is ideal for either restoration projects on antique homes or for a beautiful and unique look in a new home or project. Our Pictures are applications where reclaimed wood has not been distressed, we can distress if needed. Reclaimed lumber is sold ”as is” or they can be milled at an additional cost. The reclaimed or aged material at times are available as limited sized batches depending on what your applications is.
Reclaimed wood gives a look warmth and feel that you cannot be match. We cannot begin to tell you how many customers of ours come back to us after purchasing one of our reclaimed floors to convey how much the wood has enhanced and enriched their space. All of our reclaimed wood flooring is 100% reclaimed from old houses, buildings, structures and other sustainable sources .
Our Urban Reclaimed Wood is supplemented by local sources from saw mills and tree surgeons who previous to our program would have destroyed logs, low-grade boards/timbers (etc) either as mulch, firewood or simply landfill. Now we defect the wood and give it a new upcycled up-scaled long life.

OF COURSE, we are a wooden pallet company, specializing in used pallets. We are not asking for all your pallet business. What we are asking for is a portion of your pallet buying to “GAIN YOUR GREEN”confidence in us.
These are a few items we have done to save energy summer and winter.
6. Pay a paper, steel & plastic recycler to take you recyclables. If you do not know who to use, network, ask some of your freinds, local suppliers or customers, they might already have some contacts. If your amount to be recycled is small, join up your green efforts together with them.
7. Ask you suppliers or customers if it can be arrange for larger orders/pickups/delivers, for example: 2 times a day, 2 times a week or 2 times a month, instead of smaller deliveries of 4 or 5 times a day, 4 times a week or 4 times a month . Make it work for your system. Imagine the fuel saving on this alone in the USA
8. In reference to wood pallets “GO GREEN”, try to buy some used pallets instead of all new. Try to use some off size used wooden pallets. By using off size wood skids you are saving trees, money, fuel, energy and landfills.
10. Some pallet companies offer free pallet disposal. Call them for details.
11. Atlas Wood Products – AWP offers free pallet disposal.
a. if you buy wooden pallets or crates from AWP, AWP takes your used old wood pallets away for free.
b. If you have you own truck, AWP accepts some sizes in for free.
12. Turn off all coffee pots, room heaters or air conditioners that are not in use, putting a switch type timer on them sometimes helps. Turn off all unneeded electric.
13. Always close all doors in office or occupied heated or air-conditioned areas.
14. Put door closers on all doors in areas of the warehouses or offices that do not have them as soon as possible.
15. Put trim kits around all loose fitting windows & doors to stop outside air from entering occupied areas. If funds are a problem, the old method of plastic over the all the windows and doors does work.
16. All these items help save energy for summer and winter. For example, insulation is for hot or cold.
17. ALL type of doors requires a door sweep on the bottom to stop the movement of air. If you do not have the time or money to install a door sweep, the method of old towels or used shrink-wrap at the bottom of the door always works.
18. It does not cost much to be “GO GREEN” just some simple little steps to start.
19. Have flex hours for your building being open for delivers. Have some people come in a little early and some people stay a little later for your trucks or delivers. This alone saves fuel for your own trucks or your supplier’s trucks delivering into your area. The old days of 7 to 3:30 are gone.
20. If you have public transpotation in your area, ask your employees to use the public transportation. Be flexiable sometimes the public transportation is not always on time. Split the bus pass with your people with a correctly paid reciept. You will be surprised now they show up for work.
